Daytime Postpartum Doula

 Availability can be as little as a few sessions the first week the new family is home from the hospital to the first year before the family wants the child(ren) to enter into a childcare facility.  

As new parents, many questions and concerns are whirling through your mind as you prepare to welcome your newborn(s) to the world. My goal as your  Newborn Care Specialist and daytime postpartum doula is to provide support for your growing family through those sweet, but often sleep-deprived, first few weeks or as long as the first six months. My availability for daytime postpartum support starts at 9 am and I’m available until 2 pm each Monday through Friday.   

The responsibilities I immediately task myself with as your family's newborn care specialist and postpartum doula revolve around anything and everything that is baby care related. This includes but is not limited to: bathing, diapering, feeding, bottle cleaning, laundry, circumcision care, bottle preparation, (and cleaning), creating a sleep plan, creating a daily log (to track sleep, eating & diapers) and so much more!  

I very much value the words: fed is best!  I am very supportive whether you choose to nurse, you’ll pump and provide the milk, or choose to use formula. If you choose to nurse I will bring the baby(s) to mom, changed & re-swaddled; ready to be fed. Once the feeding is done I will soothe and settle the baby(s) back to sleep allowing the mom to continue to rest.

Finally note that postpartum support is as much about providing the new Parents with guidance, an ear when they need to talk, and opportunities at any turn to add in additional support where the family requests. Anything not outlined could come at an additional fee, however, it’s all things that we discuss at the initial consultation and will be spelled out in an agreement.
